Purchase Specification
The high requirements for the quality of our products can be only achieved through a close cooperation with our suppliers. A major tool for this purpose is represented by the purchase specification.
Impact
- Agreement on Purchase Specs shall assure that OSRAM Opto Semiconductors requirements are known and accepted by the supplier
- Definition of characteristics of delivered products*)
- Criteria set-up for goods acceptance / rejects / complaints
- Agreement on Purchase Specs shall assure that OSRAM Opto Semiconductors requirements are known and accepted by the supplier
- where applicable basis for outgoing / incoming inspection
- Relevance for supplier evaluation:
- technology (Know-how)
- quality
- origin for mutual development (e.g. continuous improvement program)
*) In this specification Product is defined as any delivered good or service, which is provided by the vendor.
A purchase specification is the result of several contributions:

General Specification System
Part A
General Requirements for purchase of materials, equipment, accessory equipment, parts, quality management system, documentation, packing, complaint management, environmental aspects etc.
Part B
In addition to Part A the Part B specifies product group specific definitions and explanations (e.g. failure catalogue, analytics, specific quality system requirements, shipment conditions, etc.)
Part C
In addition to Part B the Part C specifies product specific characteristics and requirements. Part A and B are referenced in Part C which is part of the purchase order.
