Applications Speak Volumes of LED & OLED Potential

Innovative Demonstration by OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in LED Lighting Taiwan

OSRAM Opto Semiconductors will showcase a series of innovative LEDs and OLEDs demos in the LED Lighting Taiwan 2010 exhibition (part of the Photonics Festival in Taiwan), displaying the commitment of the company in providing leading edge technology. The OSRAM booth, #A1128 in Hall 1 of the Taiwan World Trade Centre (TWTC) will have demos that include LED downlight, retrofit and ceiling light, display backlight as well as OLED table lamps and pendant lamp, showing the great potential of LED and OLED applications.

With the global concerns on environmental protection and sustainability, a significant growth can be found in the deployment of LEDs in traditional lighting fixtures. In this show, OSRAM will showcase its OSLON SSL LEDs in these fixtures such as downlight, retrofit, ceiling light as well as street lighting. OSLON SSL LED is the industry’s smallest 1-watt LED with efficacy value over 100 lm. The LED provides light that is ideal for solid state lighting application.

Also featured in the booth will be the component demo board of Golden DRAGON Plus and OSLON SSL LED, which show OSRAM’s best-in-class fine white binning in the market. The flexible, long-life Golden DRAGON Plus LED is ideal for interior and exterior applications. OSRAM Opto Semiconductors will also display another interactive demo board is its full LED product line for Solid State Lighting, ranging from 0.1W Power TOPLED to 10W OSTAR SMT.

Thin, transparent and bendable are possible features of OLEDs that present new possibilities in lighting design. In this show, OSRAM will show OLEDs deployed in table lamps and a pendant lamp, signaling the entry of OLEDs into these mass market applications.

In our booth, the company also show a backlight module for TV, which is illuminated by OSLON LX LEDs. That LED enables uniformly illumination in an ultra-thin display and is an outstanding LED solution used in backlight for TVs and monitors. Other than that, full color signs application with 6-lead MULTILED is also exhibited.

Other than exhibition, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors will also hold a Solid State Lighting Workshop on June 10 from 1:30pm. We will have speakers from LED experts to introduce the latest LED solutions; and partners from LED Light For You to elaborate the considerations of optics, thermal management and electronic in LED application design process.
