Award for OSTAR Lighting
Readers of "Elektronik" magazine in Germany voted for their top products of 2005. OSTAR Lighting came out as the winner in the opto-electronics category. Once again, following the success of the Golden DRAGON in 2004 and 2003, a high-power light source has won the award.
Readers made their selections from a list of 111 products based on the innovative, interesting or pioneering qualities of the products.
OSTAR Lighting is the new spotlight in the LED range. It is equipped with four or six series-connected chips and now has a hexagonal shape that allows for high packing densities. At 420 lumen from an operating current of 700 mA, the six-chip version with lens is brighter than a 20 W low-voltage halogen lamp. LEDs are therefore now suitable for use in more and more general lighting applications. For example, they can provide enough light now for a desk light.
