Direct backlight
Look for the biggest LCD backlight! Any size you want can be realised with Golden DRAGON ARGUS. These high performance LEDs from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors provide uniform backlighting with perfect colour mixing for large display surfaces, thanks to their special lens and high luminous efficacy.
Have a look at a comparison of LED and CCFL backlight for 32" monitors. Golden DRAGON ARGUS compared with conventional cold cathode fluorescence lamps show an increased coverage of the colour triangle by more than 50%. Backlighting systems with these LEDs therefore even exceed the standards of the National Television System Committee (NTSC).


Indirect backlight
Phosphor converted white Micro SIDELEDs combine high luminance and low energy consumption with other significant benefits such as small dimensions, long lifetime, dimmability and shock resistance. Their side beam characteristics, coupled with expected increases in brightness from the same power consumption, make them ideal for display backlighting.
