Under the motto "Crystal Light – Light Emitting Diodes shape our daily lives", OSRAM Opto Semiconductors together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering in Jena, Germany, developed an exceptionally powerful LED light source so bright that it opens up completely new areas of application. These LEDs are composed of three elements: the LED chip, which produces the light, the LED package and the optics, which ensures that the light is emitted in the correct shape.
