Conferences 2004
29 November - 1 December 2004
World Meteorological Organization, Geneva, Switzerland
"European Workshop on Photonics in the Automobile"
Sponsored by SPIE and supported by OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, this Workshop will cover presentations on photonic based automotive applications. Leading scientists and engineers of various companies of the automotive industry share their findings.
27. October 2004, DeAnza Room III, 11.30
CS-MAX 2004, Monterey, USA
"Advanced compound semiconductor chip production at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors", Dr. Zeljko Spika
OSRAM Opto Semiconductors built up a new production site in Regensburg, Germany. By a highly flexible site and clean room concept we ensure a fast and smooth integration of new processes in the production environment. Safety aspects and energy saving efforts are included extensively in the fab concept. In 2004, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors was awarded with the Bavarian Energy Prize.

20.-22. October 2004
Intertech LED 2004, San Diego, USA
"Thinfilm Technology for Light Emitting Diodes", Dr. Klaus Streubel
The OSRAM Opto Semiconductors' thinfilm technology is the basis for highly efficient light extraction. It increases the efficiency of LEDs and opens new applications for these extra bright diodes.
12.-17. October 2004
China Hi-Tech Fair, Shenzhen, China
“Surface emitting GaInN devices: an enabling technology for future applications”, Dr. Volker Härle
Over the last years the GaN-technology has proven to become a true alternative for solid state lighting. Lighting requirements are driven by brightness, operation voltage, lifetime and reliability issues such as electro static discharge stability. Beside lighting applications it becomes more and more important to shape and form the light extracted from an LED.
