A day in the life
Ines Pietzonka
Hello! My name is Ines Pietzonka and I am 34 years old. I am married and have a daughter. After finishing my first degree in crystallography, I wrote my doctorate during a post-doc stay abroad in Lund, Sweden, which lasted for one and half years. During that time I got an offer from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors to work in the development department in Regensburg.
As an MOVPE development engineer, it is my job to grow crystals, which emit light. We do this by the deposition of extremely thin layers on wafers with the help of metal organic gas phase epitaxy.
I have worked on various projects during my time as a development engineer at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors and managed a few of them, too. The work is always interesting and varied because I constantly have to rise to new challenges. In 2003 and 2004 I was also a member of training scheme for junior staff.
After an eight month break for a baby, I have now accepted a new challenge in the world of lasers, in which I am responsible for epitaxy development.
From the very beginning I loved the pleasant environment at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors because the company really tries to understand its employees' personal needs and concerns. And thanks to their wonderful working time models, I can find time for my family as well as my work.
Perhaps you would like to accept a new challenge at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, too.
Yours Ines Pietzonka
