Hello! My name is David Brown, I am 22 years old and single.

After completing my B.Sc. at MIT I came to OSRAM Opto Semiconductors as an intern. My university offers a program to find students internships abroad. With their help I created a resumé and cover letter which I sent to OSRAM Opto Semiconductors.

My daily work is characterized by modeling the electrical and optical properties of GaN lasers using the Comsol physics program. Based on the results of the simulation, I give recommendations to the epitaxy group on what structures to grow. The simulations I'm developing will be packaged into a tool for use in-company.

What I particularly appreciate at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors are the friendly and understanding people who helped me integrate into Regensburg. The work done here is of the highest professional quality and all of my colleagues are skilled scientists. It's really easy to get involved in extracurricular activities when you work here.
